What do you intend to change in your home this year? As spring is upon us, most of us decide to give our spaces a refreshing look that brings a feeling of novelty in our lives.
This spring/summer of 2019 introduces some great new colour schemes to play around with. Inspired by so many diverse sources, we can pick any kind of colour to surround ourselves with, but when we are stuck for choice, consulting the latest interiors fashion trends always helps to kickstart a new project.
A palette of bold colours was given more attention than others this year, most especially in events such as the Milan Design Week. At Tanti Interiors, we handpicked two exceptionally suave colours which we feel deserve to rise back to recognition - seaweed green and midnight blue.
Midnight blue, the colour of sultry summer night skies, may be considered as the new black but less sombre, more chic…. and excellent to use on dramatic backdrops for your best paintings or wall hangings.
Furnishings in midnight blue look stunning against a white backdrop so for instance, changing your sofa to something as elegant as a Sofa Castelle will create a superb attention-seeking centre of attraction in the living room. Then you work your way around the room to match the mood and make it all come together.
On a lighter note, seaweed green adds a brisk summery feel to interiors and can be used not just on the four walls but also uniquely on a feature wall. How about using it for a room's ceiling? Have curtains made in this colour to immediately add a dash of nobility since the colour is somehow reminiscent of Georgian drawing rooms and colonial living rooms in far eastern lands. Whilst sticking to the theme of luxury furnishings, consider this plush Chair Monterey and imagine how gorgeous it would look with plump cushions embroidered in the colours of exotic birds.
If a complete colour change is not your thing, consider incorporating smaller dashes of these two important colours against a background of complimentary white, brown, pink or teal. A pair of Novato stools for instance, set in a bedroom against a vintage white crotchet coverlet; or a Swivel Chair accompanied by a neat glass coffee table and your favourite and freshest long drink.....
